We had moved the start
of our trip back a couple of days so we could go to a neighbours
wedding reception, but while we were getting ready Bren was overtaken
by a nasty stomach bug, so we didn't go. Not to be outdone, of
course, Terry quickly latched on to a milder, but longer lasting
version which left us both right out of sorts for getting everything
ready. This showed up later of course when we started realising what
we'd left behind – so much for check lists!
Of course, what we
should have done is called Eurotunnel and put our crossing back a
couple of days. But Terry had sold a bike rack to a chap from Brecon,
in Wales, and had agreed to meet him at Oxford Services on 31st
May so we just had to carry on. Bren recovered okay but Terry was
somewhat under the weather and the thought of a 250 mile drive was a
little unwelcome.
Ah well, needs must so we carried on with our plans.
We've got a Caravan Club CL booked close to the Service Area so if things get too bad we will make changes then.
